Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells.......................

Hi Everyone! As you may know, Christmas has passed and I suppose there was wrapping paper EVERYWHERE!! I had lots of fun during Christmas. I think we did something that many people do. On Christmas Eve we all sat and sang christmas carols while our Uncle kept track of the time. We would all countdown and wait until it was past midnight. We actually opened our presents first thing on Christmas morning! I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas as well as we did.
-Here's a piece of what we did.
Now we wait for the Happy New Year......................

I love mine especially because they are always there for me and they always encourage me.  They are very humorous and make me laugh.  I love my family heaps, more than you can ever imagine.  They are such a big part of my life.  They are all nice and easy to get along with. Tanielu and Justus are my brothers who make a lot of noise. My mum Andrea and my dad Ray are very funny and kind.

Thanks for reading my blog!

PR-PR-PR-PRIZEGIVING????

"" And now we're on to the year five awards" Mr Burt announced. " I'm so excited" I squealed to Selena.  It was the night of Pt England's 2009 Prize giving and I felt as if I was in Egypt, man it was hot!! " First of all the 100% attendance awards." Mr Burt declared" Maranda.......Aidan.......and..... Toreka." My heart thumped like crazy. "D-d-d-id  Mr Burt j-j-just call my n-n-name?" I thought in my head. Everyone turned around straight away and started to stare.Thankfully my friends and family started to cheer. It made me feel a bit better. As I hastily walked down the red carpet, I tried to imagine I wasn't at prize giving, but at home walking down the drive way. It REALLY helped. As soon as I got my award my older brother (Tanielu) hung two lollies necklaces around my neck. I looked down and I couldn't believe my eyes. In front of me, hanging around my neck were the my most favourite chocolates in the whole wide world.  Finally, I got to go and sit back down. But it didn't matter because I had to go back up again! This time, it as for getting distinction in my writing exams. I got another  lolly necklace. My nana must have been busy. Prize giving was a lot of fun. I am looking forward to next year's one!

A Petrifying Performance

"Shh" whispered Mrs Tele'a impatiently. It was the first night of the production and my teeth couldn't stop chattering. All the production people were lined up. anxiously waiting for the show to begin. We were performing The Toy Shop On Zip Zap Avenue, and I was three of the toys: A barbie doll, transformer and a troll. I was so nervous that goosebumps popped out of nowhere!

The time came when we all had to go out and sing the main song. The first thing I noticed was that the hall was full! Full of parents searching for their kids on the stage. My stomach felt like butterflies were fluttering inside me. But huge butterflies! The thought of performing made me more scared than a mouse in a cat's mouth. But yet, it was really fun. Sorry if I confused you.

The time passed so quickly, the transformers were on. My heart raced faster and faster. The beat of music had entered the hall, and I was ready to perform. I was as ready as I'd ever be. Doo be doo ba bam! Doo be doo ba bam! The music swiftly swayed in to my ears. I t was like I was persuaded to dance!

Finally, the finale had arrived. Every body was laughing and having fun. I just spotted my family and waved and smiled. I think it's cool that we have productions because we can show off our talents to our community.

Paleontologist Project

Ladies and gentle men, you are going to feast your eyes upon very very important information about the American paleontologist himself, Edward Drinker Cope. He is also a herpetologist and ichthyologist. He studied a lot of things.  Sorry, this was a VERY late update from Term 2!! We learnt about dinosaurs in term 2 and our extension project was to explain about the paleontologist we got given to study. Watch this movie to find out more information about this famous paleontologist.

A Twenty First Birthday

Kia Ora every body!  During September, my aunt Sara celebrated her 21st. This meant she could catch up with her old friends and some of her family she hadn't seen in a long time too!  Our task for this term was to show a celebration that we've been to and that includes food! I chose my aunty's birthday. It was a lot of fun producing it. It's been weeks in the making .

Sara- I hope you like my movie

C-C-C-Candy land?

Marshmallows for clouds? Chocolate milk for rivers? Bridges made out of candy canes? Houses made of gingerbread? Where was I? What had happened to me? Had I gone crazy? Did I have an injury?

It was astonishing. I JUST couldn't believe. I couldn't! I saw a little boy running 'round and 'round. As if on cue, he fell down as I approached him. " Do you know what this place is?" I asked in a desperate tone. " Of course silly!" he giggled, " You're in Candy Land! The most beautiful place in the world." " C-C-C-Candy land?" I asked. " Sure" he replied " Don't you see the clouds? The rivers? The bridges? The houses?Everything is edible!" My frown turned upside down. " Everything??" I said slyly.

I munched and crunched on the houses. Luckily, no one lived here. I swallowed big gulps of chewed up candy. I sucked on all the lollipop posts. They were scrumptious! By the time I was full it looked like a hurricane had come upon this strange land. Then, I spotted the most beautiful thing. A magnificent sight indeed. I dribbled over the HUGE chocolate tree. I dashed to the tree but it started to dissolve. Everything started to vanish from my sight. I ran around the whole place looking for the little boy. I passed quite a few of delicious sights. But there was no time for eating. I had to find that kid!

The lollipop I was still sucking on started to taste bland. I blinked ten times. Eeeewwwww! Gross!!!! I Toreka Tele'a, was sucking on my pillow!! I hope I don't have any more strange dreams. Not for my tongue, but for my pillow! My head would be soaking!

Totara Springs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a cold breezy morning when 40 riversiders of Pt England Primary loaded on to a double decker bus.  It was the day we were leaving for Totara Springs.  Sadly, I waved good bye to my dad. Now I didn’t want anything to ruin this camp, I had been waiting the whole year for it. Luckily, my mum had my aunty Masele, (My mum’s baby sister) come to be a leader for my group.  And what do you know! Both me AND my aunty Masele were on the bus waving good bye to our family. The next ½ hour you could’ve probably heard me complaining either, “Are we there yet?” or “Oh my gosh, this is going so slow!” Eventually, we had arrived at Totara Springs. “That bus ride was really worth while” I whispered in my mind.  Later that day we were able to unpack all of our things.  To me, I just wanted to fall right down and faint!  Soon, we heard the speaker monitor say,”All right campers, please come to the dining room so we can start eating lunch!”  I zoomed past everyone as if I hadn’t eaten in 12 months. BOY WAS I HUNGRY!!  Just the right lunch for this li’l lady. HAMBURGERS!!!!! “Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm” I hummed in my mind.  Cheese slices, buns, tomatoes-Ooh sorry if I made you hungry >:  Anyway, it was all so scrumptious. SO delicious and delicate. So fancy an fine.

_ SORRY THIS IS SMALL, LOOK OUT FOR PART 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tinkerbell Time

A trail of gold dust led to a full nest of fairies.  But the one that seemed to stand out, is the one that most if not all of us would know...............Tinkerbell!!  She had matching shoes to her glinting green dress.  Her wings shimmered in the light, with all the other fairies following behind like children following teachers.  She glanced at me and winked.  Suddenly, I felt a tingle up my spine, I started to shrink smaller and smaller, down to their tiny size.  I was only a bit taller than some of the fairies.  I waved my arms around to see what I looked like and then realised my feet were off the ground.  I closed my eyes and put my arms out.  They started to tremble with fear.  I flew up side down.  I soared in the air and noticed by my side, my little brother.  Saying '' Reka, what are you doing?''  I felt embarrassed because I was lying on the couch with my arms held out with my cousins staring at me.  I guess it was enough in the air for today!!

Nervous About Netball

It was the first game for the Pt England J2 netball team. We all felt nervous about the netball game. During the game, we zigged, we zagged, so we zigg zagged over the court. My heart pounded, my muscles ached was I able to continue the game? Just then the buzzer went and I was so relieved. I swapped with Naomi and felt excitement creep up my spine. The second round had begun. What would happen next? I leaped for the ball, I jumped for the ball, I shouted for the ball. In the end, it was all worth while. We had won the very first game. I was so happy, everything had fallen in to place. Hearing we had won made me more confident in my self.

Never stopping

Everything seemed complicated

Trying to reach the ball was a bit difficult

Beautiful when playing

Amazing team mates

A Scary Suprise

As I dive in to the tranquil water I notice a fin over my shoulder. My heart races as I paddle faster and faster, the fin approaches me, closer and closer. I shut my eyes and stood still. I could feel the water wrapping it's way around me. I started to mope and opened my eyes. I couldn't believe it. There, standing right in front of me, was an actual swimming.............DOLPHIN!!!!! I swam with the creature until I could not swim any more. I blinked 10 times and then saw my dad in the dolphin's place. I guess I was in now for our game of water tiggy. I wonder what happened to that dreamy dolphin.

My Brothers

Hello my readers, today I'll be talking to you about my big and also my baby brother. First of all there's my  brave elder brother, Tanielu.  He is a number one fan of the TIGERS.  He is 11 years old but plays for the Under 12 Mount Wellington rugby league team.   He is also famous on the internet, is published in a fancy magazine and has interviewed the prime minister!! How cool can life get? I am very proud of my big bro'.  He is a true role model to me.  I don't know what I'd do with out him.

And of course there's Justus.  The cute yet annoying little brother, with good looks that almost hypnotise my aunties with his cuteness. The little rascal is still very nice but most times a pain in the neck.   Even when he breaks my toys and makes too much noise he'll always be my little brother.  He is 3 years old and goes to a kindergarten called Te Ahou.  He's like a non-stop tennis-ball machine, spitting out the balls unexpectedly.

Thanks folks for reading my post.
P.S.Please click on Tanielu's name.

The Wonderful Website Wordle.

This afternoon, at extension, Mrs Burt explained to us how to use Wordle. Wordle is a website that mixes all the words that you have used for your blog. She showed us that there is many different colours and fonts to use. For me, it felt like it was impossible to choose the best wordle, but in the end I managed. I am very glad that I found out about this website. I hope you will click on the URL and make your own wordle too.

Terrific Teachers

Hello my fellow readers, to day I'll be talking to you about our magnificent teachers here at Pt England Primary. Our teachers aren't ordinary, they take their work really serious. For example, 5 of our teachers teach and also are coaches for our school sports team. 1 of our teachers are brand new, and still, she's terrific!

Every single netball game, my teacher always comes to support the netball girls. The other teachers in school also come to cheer us on.

Thank you to all of the teachers at Pt England. You are all a big part of our school and community.
Thanks again!

The Ultimate Race

Jittery and jumpy, I lined up with all the other competitors. Shivers slithered down my spine. I hopped up and down full of nervous excitement. Quickly I shut my eyes and took a deep breath. “You can do this,” I whispered in my mind.

All of a sudden the clappers sounded and there were flailing arms and legs everywhere. Everyone was jostling for position, wanting to win first place. “Bajeebas, they’re fast!” I whispered to myself. I felt like my legs had turned into jelly, so wobbly.
“Come on Reka! You can do it!” said a voice in my mind. “Doesn’t matter where you come just be proud of yourself.” I had no idea who that was but it sure encouraged me.

As I passed a corner, and then another my muscles ached and mud was squelching under my feet. “You’re really close, don’t give up now,” I murmured to myself. As I gasped for breath I kept asking myself, “Am I able to continue?” My arms felt tired out, my eyes felt like they were burning.

Before long I spotted the finish line and powered ahead wanting to complete the race. I panted and wheezed as I crossed the finish line. It felt like I couldn’t breathe or feel my legs. Coming 6th didn’t matter to me. My task for this year’s cross country was to be able to complete the race no matter where I came - to be proud of the fact that I had finished it with perseverance.

Since Fluffy Got Sent Away

This poem is about my imaginary cat, Fluffy.  It is about how sad I was when he got sent away.  Enjoy!

The glitter on my shirt has faded
Feels like getting hit with trays
It's like my heart has been traded
Since Fluffy got sent away

Chocolate buttons now taste so spicy
Yellow looks like gruesome grey
My little brother seems so feisty
Since Fluffy got sent away

To think that our friendship would never end.
I insisted for her to stay
It's all because of the things I lend
Fluffy got sent away
My heart feels crumpled
Full of dismay
My confidence has tumbled
Since Fluffy got sent away

Rapunzel's Revenge Part 1

This is my version of 'Rapunzel's Revenge'.  It is already a story but I decided to rewrite it. Enjoy!!

It all began after the two love birds got married and decided to go on a honeymoon.  The prince suggested that they go to Hawaii, but Rapunzel disagreed.  She longed to get revenge on the wicked witch.

The witch had been in the WILD WEST with people whispering all the time about her.  She cackles no nicer than having a cactus needle poking you.  Just hearing her voice makes people feel like a poisonous snake is slithering down their backs.  But everyone knows that you should never, ever, in the history of never, make eye contact with the old witch.

The prince plastered a smile on his face, not wanting the beautiful girl get over temper.  Rapunzel knew all along that the prince was a fraud, no stronger than a blade of grass.

The following morning, the prince woke up to find that a pair of boots was sitting where Rapunzel had been sleeping.  With annoyance he dragged himself out of bed and sat on the comfy couch.

The lazy prince fell a sleep in the blink of an eye, only to be pulled off the couch by a cow girl maniac!!  "Howdy Yo!" the maniac shouted.  The prince was angrier than a rampage of rhinos," What's the big idea?! " he shrieked at the top of his lungs.  The prince then noticed Rapunzel, her eyes seemed to be lit with fire......... TO BE CONTINUED

The Interview

This morning, we had a video conference with one of New Zealand's geologists.  Well actually, a world famous geologist!  His name is Hamish Campbell.  He has a gift of explaining words that kids my age don't understand.

While preparing for this event, we made seismometers.  In my group was Seini-Mino and Mubasshira.  A seismometer is a machine that records how big the energy was that was sent from the epicenter.

The last time we had an interview with him, we were talking about dinosaurs. Hamish told us that Joan Wiffen, the famous paleontologist had passed away.  She was truly an inspiration.  He even got to go to her funeral to represent Te-Papa. How cool!

Back to our discussions about the earthquake.  He told us that it was amazing because the Australian plate went underneath the Pacific plate.  When he showed us with his own hands it looked as if the plate had dived!

He told us all about an earthquake in 1976 which happened to be in Tangshan China.  He explained to us that earthquakes are so quick that 242, 000 people died when the earthquake was only 15 seconds! I was amazed because, in Fiordland the earthquake lasted 30 seconds and no one died!

Thank you Diana-Grace and Hamish Campbell for the interview!  We really enjoyed it.

Little Red

On the first day of Term 3, our class got in to groups and made animations. In my group there was Jarna, Jordan and Cruz. Our group made an animation about Little Red Riding Hood. If you would like to go on to Jarna's blog just click on her name!! You can also go on to Jordan and Cruz's blog too! I hope you liked our animation!

Dream Of The Sea

As I dive in with my legs streamlined and straight, I try to avoid sharp coral at state.
I feel the coldness rush through me, the frightful feeling of a creature behind me.
I pass a school of fish all yellow and bright,  so glad I'm swimming at day not night.
My heart skipped a beat as I saw a huge shadow, much, much bigger than a fake afro.
Suddenly a large group of fish all stopped at a screech, my guess was that they were headed for the beach.
I followed the fish as fast as I could go, like on a secret mission, and staying down low.
I heard a familiar voice whisper in my ear, Toreka you want me to do your hair?
It turned out it was all a dream, of fish coloured in a light sort of cream.
I wondered if I would ever visit again, the world that looked like it was made out of rain....

Ala's Sleepover

My very first sleep over how exciting! It was so cool that I couldn't stop smiling!
As the night was still young, we had a load of fun!
When we finished painting our nails, we began to tell scary tales.
We started to sing, knowing that the theme was bling.
We roasted marshmallows, white and puffy. We also had candy floss, very fluffy.
We went to Sylvia park, a very good remark.
I had a really good time, Ala was truly kind.

But everyone knows: A birthday's a day so lovely and good, when all special plans turn out as the should. When happiness and delight touches all that you do for a birthday's a day that's made for just you.

Happy Birthday Ala
You can also go on to Ala's blog too.

The First Term Of Fairytales

It was the first day of Term 3 as my class and I marched in to the hall for our immersion assembly, waiting to see what the teachers had in store for us. The first day of every term, the teachers would already know the topic and would dress up in anything that would relate to it. And to my surprise I saw teachers in ball gowns, crowns and swords! But what really captured my attention was Mrs Nua, I almost couldn't recognize her! Her bright blue hair was a perfect match to her flowing blue dress. As I began to sit down I set my eyes upon the screen. On it read: The Art In Storytelling.

Just then, Mr Burt entered through the hall and down the aisle holding what looked like a glass slipper. "Has anyone seen my princess?" he exclaimed in a posh voice. He was dressed in fancy pants in a frog kind of green and had polished-like shoes. "I've been searching for her day and night, but I still haven't found her!" he continued. He strolled towards Ms Barks and asked himself if she was his princess. But as soon as Mr Burt saw her pyjama pants he knew that it wasn't her. Ms Barks stood up with a sly smile spread across her face. How strange? She scattered down the aisle and tossed porridge to kids around the hall.

But my favourite item just had to be Team 3's! Ms Garden stepped on the stage as Cinderella wearing an exquisitely beautiful wedding dress with a long flowing train down behind her. Ms Walters followed wearing a little tiara anfd waving her wand. Then, as Ms Lavakula, Ms MacKinlay and Mrs Tuala scurried along the stage, you could obviously tell that they were the ugly sisters. With a crooked pointy nose, huge ears and a large pair of teeth, they all started to fight over the Cinderella's partner. YIKES! Suddenly, Mr Burt zoomed up on to the stage and questioned her. But poor Mr Burt, he still couldn't find his princess.

I am looking forward to this term a lot!  It would have been heaps of fun dressing up in fairytale costumes.

The Amazing Apatosaurus

This dinosaur is a prehistoric lizard, the Apatosaurus means "Deceptive lizard" it is the best known of all the long-necked plant-eating dinosaurs. It was around about in the late Jurassic,150 million years ago! The Apatosaurus walked on four legs and was a ornithisian (bird-hipped) dinosaur.

The Apatosaurus was a herbivore and ate gastroliths(stones) because it had peg-like teeth to snip off leaves. It ate things like herbs, twigs, leaves and many more. While they were walking the stones were grinding there food.

Apatosaurus was thought to keep it's tail off the ground when walking to keep it's balance. Each foot had short stubby toes on the front feet. The toe's of the back feet ended in claws. Each massive foot-print was up to 1 meter (3 feet) wide. Apatosaurus length was 21 meters and it's weight was 30 ton's.

The Apatosaurus lived in north America with some of it's relatives. The Apatosaurus stayed in a group called the theropod group.

Scientists believe that an astrode had hit earth which caused the dust to block the sun. Then the plant eaters would die because all the plants would die or the meat-eaters will eat them all.But then the Carnivores (meat-eaters) would die because they would die from starvation.

9 Years old! A story to be told!

It was a breezy autumn morning when I opened my eyes. It was dead silent, no one was awake. I dragged my self out of bed. Realising it was my birthday, this made me move faster. I didn’t want to greet my friends in pyjamas! When I finished brushing my teeth, I dashed to the living room to get my clothes. But I wasn’t fast enough, my mum had seen me sprint past her bedroom. She whispered to me to come closer and then she said “ Get changed, and happy birthday 9 year old!”. I got changed and sat there looking at our big pile of washing, thinking how we could get rid of it. After 19 or 20 minutes it got boring so I switched on the TV! Unfortunatley, nothing happened, so I tried again! Still nothing happened! Then I froze and straight away I knew the problem. It was my brother , Tanielu had switched the plug off. He says that he likes to save power. I flicked the switch and the TV felt the power. When it turned on, it blasted my ears!! I thought my family would come charging in to the living room and shout “ HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!”.But no one came . I fell back on to the couch and turned down the volume down and changed the channel to 41 (Nickelodeon). After quite a long time my family were dressed and ready. My dad and I were about to take off to pick up Selena when Angela arrived! “ Hi Angela!” I say excitedly. “ Hi Reka.” Angela whispers as well as giving me an envelope. Inside I was bursting! I just wanted to tear it open, like a terrifying bear on the loose! “ Toreka, Why don’t you bring Angela with you?” aksed my mum. I nodded my head to say yes. Angela and I raced to the van and hopped in. We strolled along the road as my dad saw Seini-Mino’s car roll down our drive. Followed by Seini-Mino’s car came Ala’s. Now all we needed was Sylvia...

Man in the Mirror

This evening we watched the news and I was saddened. The news reporter said that Michael Jackson has passed away. The news reports told me about how young he was when he became famous - 10 years of age - my brother's age. Also that he kept changing his face as he got older, his Dad and all the many concerts they had to do as children. He was an extremely talented musician as well as a very good - actually excellent dancer. My favourite song of his is Thriller. My Dad likes it so much he knows the whole routine. He taught me the moves so now I know it.
I was very very sad when I heard this. To me there will never be another MJ.

RIP Michael Jackson 1958-2009

White With Black Splotches

I am an animal and I say moo,I gaze on grass and I give milk too.
A shady tree is just the right spot, I rest under them on a day that's hot.
Flowers cover me from head to toe, it even tickles my nose.
I give milk products that ends up in a dairy, that sits on your shelf next to the berries.
I am white with black splotches.
Can you guess what I am?

I am a cow.

The Term Of The Dinosaurs

It was Monday morning and everybody was in the hall ready for assembly. But this wasn't any ordinary assembly, it was Term 2's immersion assembly. The main theme was 'Dino-Might'!

"Raaaah!" screamed Mr Burt dressed as Cracker the Cave Man. He walked towards me and banged me on the back with his bombyenocker! " I want to eat my lunch!" he yells " Hipsololphodons make a good burger! I call them dino burgers" he shouted. As if Pt England kids were the prey, he hobbled over to Feki, hit him and dragged him down the asile! He kept on hitting him and shrieked " This isn't enough, I need some more Hipsolophodons."Cracker tip toed over to Tyler and dragged him down the aisle as well. Tyler greeted Feki.

" Okay now we're going to see what Team2 is going to do this term!" Cracker declared.
Mr J pressed the space bar and the movie began. At the end, all the teachers from Team 1 ran up on the stage held up a sign that read : WE ARE NOT EXTINCT (YET). All the teachers thought it was hilarious!

My favourite item was performed by Team 2. They were bobbing and gliding all over the stage with their ' Dino Diva Disco'.

I am looking forward to learning about dinosaurs. Sometimes I even wish I could go back in time to see, with my own eyes, a real live dinosaur.

Dad!

Hi I’m Toreka and today this post is about how wonderful and caring dads can be.I’m sure that everybody else in the world loves their own dad as much as I love mine. They try very hard to look after us children . Even though it seems like our mums do the work our dad’s try their very best at work as well it’s just that we don’t see them at work because we are at school studying and working hard just like our dads.
Mmm! What a great secret recipe my dad has. It’s the family favourite, sticky rice! It’s delicous! Only the best of the best would know how to make it. It is made out of sweetened condensed milk, caramel flavoured sweetened condensed milk, and of course glutinous rice! What would I be without my lovely delicous sticky rice?
My dad is also a professional at cooking curies for his family .He has made chicken curies and lamb curies they’re awesome! Even though I don’t like spices he makes sure that it isn’t too spicy for me. He is the best dad on the earth. I love you so much dad! I quickly wrote up an acrostic poem on my dad’s name.

Respects me
Awesome curry
Yummy sticky rice
Man of steel
Open to love
Nice and near

Camp Aratika

Last week on Wednesday morning, the senior school came to school in mufty. Why do you ask? Well the reason why we were allowed to come to school in mufty because it was the year five and six camp. Yes it was that time of the year again. We were having it at school on the field again.

It was quite exciting when we got in to our groups.I wanted to be in the same group as Seini-Mino. But it didn't matter though because I was in the Participators with Selena .Yay! My leaders were Sela and Leoden. The vice captains were April and Jonty.

Our very first event was orienteering. First Mr Jacobsen told us to partner up. My partner was Selena. "Now you need to choose who is going to be A and who is going to be B" announced Mr Jacobsen. Selena was A and I was B ."The A's come and each get a compass and the B's come and get a pencil and a piece of paper." Next Mr Jacobsen taught us how to use the compass. Then it was time for the practise round. " You all have to come back when I blow the hooter."

And we were off! Selena and I jogged all the way to the white picket fence."Selena it says 130 degrees" I yelled excitedly. "Okay 120,130. There!" We sprinted to the toilets but unfortunately Selena's shoe separated from her foot! "You're running too fast!" I laughed. "530 degrees Selena." I shout.
"Okay that leads to to room 13's door!"she exclaimed. We sprinted to the door. When we got there we saw April and Sela investigating something. "20 degrees now" I whisper."BEEP"went the hooter. Oh bother. Selena and I quickly tried to figure out what the message was. Then it was time to play the real course. But in the end we didn't get to finish it.

Next it was time for rock climbing."Yipee!"I yelled. The next 10 minutes I was complaining" Ms Squires, it's too high!"
"Okay this time if I fall I will try only once again and thats that" I thought.
"Look Selena look I made it half way up the Egyptian wall" I scream.
As a matter of fact there were lots of different wallls. There was a snakes and ladders wall, Egyptian wall (the one I made it up to half way), sea creatures, going out of New Zealand, King Kong, Indiana Jones' rope, sheep, desert, rockets, space ships, power puff girls and pokemon, clocks, squiggles, zigzags, musical instruments and last but not least Jack and the bean stalk. I didnt get a chance to climb all of the walls. Mrs Posesione was watching me climb up on the Squiggles wall but I never knew! I was so tired but a quarter of the wall was waiting for me to reach the top. Oh noo! My fingers were so sore there was nowhere to go. Whoosh! I landed swiftly like a tamed bird at her feet."Oh Toreka you only had a little more to reach the top!" says Mrs Posesione.I just smiled."Everybody we're going now" said Ms Squires

"Ms Squires, where are we going next?' I ask."we're going skating!" Uh Oh.I wasn't very good at skating either. The next second we were already there!" Ms Squires I don't know my shoe size I exclaim." Oh that's all right he'll just give you a pair like every body elses and he did!But the real problem was I was decorating myself. No, no,no not with glitter, bruises!

How It All Fits Together

This blog is about why I used the food pyramid and what we have to do for our extension class. First of all right now we are bringing in recipes that include potatoes, bananas & rice.I have brought in a recipe for every type of food except for rice. But I plan to ask my dad if he can write down how to make his family famous sticky rice, it's delicious!

Now back to the food pyramid. The reason why we had to read the food pyramid is so when we bring in our recipe we can see if it falls inside the fatty area where there is sugar or if it falls in the healthy area where there are lots of vitamins and fruit. Most of our favourite food falls inside the fatty area.

We  also made a garage band track using only drums. Not all of us succeeded in that but when we heard my mum say "Times up!" we had to take of our comfy earphones and go around all of the computers and see which one was the best.Moses had the best track because when you listen to the year five's track you would hear that we used beats. It sounded pretty cool though.

Rock Our World is really cool.I especially loved it because we got to draw lots!I wish I was an artist. We traced over our photo and drew the 4 other things that were important to us.I had alot to choose from.

Inorganic Rubbish Day

It leaves good memories
Nauseous feeling when you look at the rubbish
Objects that are suppose to be recycled
Respected and loved once now tossed away
Glittery but now glum
A day of love, the next,a day of loneliness
Needful now unnecessary
It was an idol but now  it is ignored
Carved into care now cast away

Refusing to let the togs get smashed into pieces
Unnecessary now that the old moldy mattress is vanished
Big huge hungry monster smashing the memories
Beautiful white dinosaurs scrunching everything
It's a huge monster ready for a meal
Swimming pool with a hole could of been stitched together
House's old antiques are all gone now

Destroys the good times in the objects
A man's trash can be another man's treasure
Yesterday's treasure today's trash

What's Google Earth?

"Look Mino there's our restaurant!" I yell. You see we were trying to find our house on 'Google Earth'. What's google earth I hear you say ,it's a really cool programme on the computer where you can type in the place where you would like to go.But the one thing is that you have to be specific. For example if you would like to find a house you would have to type in : 212 Anderson Ave, Point England ,Auckland, New Zealand. Then it does something really awesome . It zooms out on what your doing, rotates the globe if what you typed in is on a different country. Isn't that fantastic! When it rotates after that it zooms in to your country and then in to the city. Don't you think that's cool? Sorry I have to go I promise to finish this !

Me 'N' Mino!

Her and I have the same favourite colours. Our favourite colours are green, yellow and blue.

Mr J's Music Session

Hi it's me with another post about 'Extension'. This time my mum was no where to be found. But have no fear Mr J is here!I mean the one who teaches the music. He was going to teach our extension. First Mr Jacobson told us what to do first and most important kind of. Was we had to open up garage band and put the metronome on to make sure we were in the correct time of the beat.We also had to put the count in on so we could start in the right timing. The first thing we had to do on garage band was to put the musical typing on the screen and put the sound to rock kit. I could already hear some one's computer going"Boom ,Ding Dang,Boom,Boom....."and so on. My first sound was the kick drum.It sounded "Doom....Doom....Doom...."Every four seconds.Next we did some other drum but I don't seem to remember it though. Then we kept on duplicating the same tracks and soon it started to sound pretty cool.I can't believe that I actually started to make a cool sound!Soon I could hear the whole class room starting to rise up with the sound of music.I love going on garage band it is so cool!Well that's all from me today!

Healthy or Unhealthy?

Hi again, This time I am talking about what we did at extension.Well what we did made me pretty hungry! We had to draw a table in partners that would tell us that if our favourite food was healthy or could make you sick.If you looked at our chart it would of been Burger King that was the most popular meal that people are most common with.We also had to have a chart about our favourite desert! Most people like to eat is an ice-cream sundae and chocolate cake. But mine was completely different to every body's despite my mum.My favourite desert is my dad's homemade sticky rice! But when we looked at the food pyramid the part with the most was the sugar and fat!But 4 people in the room managed to help earn a few telly marks for the healthy side!I think that we should start to eat more healthy food because we have lots of sport going around the school.  Next time I might write another blog about my dad's world's famous chicken curry! Remember to only eat junk food for special occasions and always try to eat healthy food.! We are also learning about witch country restaurants in New Zealand come from.

Waiwera Holiday

In the holidays my family and I went to Waiwera. That's where we usually go for our holiday. We left at 10 o'clock in the morning. By the time we got there I was half asleep, so when we got to the hotel I threw my self on my hotel bed! I was exhausted! But I had to help unpack the gear from the van though. I was going very slowly just like a snail strolling along the path but when my dad said that we were going to the Waiwera pools I zoomed like a race car! Wow! So I put on my togs and put my clothes on top. My mum took a while to get changed, so we turned on the telly!
Meanwhile at our real home my aunt Sele was looking after our house. I was wondering what she was up to. After quite a long time my mum and dad had their sunscreen and togs on. The cool thing about the hotel is that it's just across the road and we don't have to find a parking space! So we walked there.
When my mum and dad were paying for us to go inside the pools I was sneaking up on my little brother like a lion hunting an antelope. When I said 'boo' he fell down like coconuts from a tree and he started laughing. But I knew that he was frightened. Finally they had paid.We had reached my destination, well our destination. Before I knew it my little brother said "boo!!!" But I wasn't scared though. Okay maybe a little.
We were so excited to be at Waiwera pools. Some people were swimming just like fish! There were also slides like The Twister,The Speed Slide,The Black Hole,The Gut Buster, Squeeze,Bob's mistake,Short 'N' Sharp and of course The Kids Chute. I took off my t-shirt and there were my togs. Unfortunatley my parents told us to fold up our clothes and then we could hop inside the pool. I jumped like a frog into the water. The water was so warm.
After some time passed my brother Tanielu and I wanted to go on the slides. I've only been on Bob's Mistake Short 'N' Sharp and the kid's chute. So we went on Bob's mistake 1 million times! Okay maybe not 1 million times it's just that we felt like we went on it 1 million times. When my dad came we went on the Gut Buster, Squeeze, The Speed Slide and the twister. The twister isn't that scary to me, in fact none of the slides were scary to me. Turns out we all had a good time. Thanks to http://images.google.co.nz/images?hl=en&q=Waiwera%20Pools%20Images&safe=active&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi for the pictures!
The end
